Indian Premier League 11 - My best five moments

This year, IPL has been into its 11th season. Personally, I was excited with the IPL every year, may be for the first 4 to 5 seasons. For unknown reasons, the interest in it dwindled from then on. Added to that, when my favourite home team, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) was suspended for two years, I had lost my interest in IPL completely, other than keeping a tab on the performance of some of my favourite players. IPL 11th edition has been a much awaited one as CSK was returning to the big league. Naturally, this kindled the interest to watch their performance as a team in this season. To spice it up, the opening match between CSK and Mumbai Indians(MI) doing a cliff hanger and the men in yellow snatching the victory pushed me to watch matches. As the season moved forward, there were many exciting close encounters and this made this IPL very special, unlike many of the previous seasons. I would like to pend down my BEST five moments in this IPL: Moment#5 :  ABD & Gayle heroics ...

Fuel prices are high..Heart is fueling.....

Often, I hear the statement  "If fuel(petrol, diesel) prices are high, people will contemplate on modes of public transportation". This may sound like a feel good argument, but in reality, we are covering up our inefficiencies as a society and trying to sound noble.  Public transportation like buses, train, autos do need fuel as well. If we go true with the above statement, the  number of private vehicles plying can be reduced, but again, for how long? Will that bring down the fuel price? So, this feel good argument gets defeated right there.  We all know, the spiraling negative effect this has, do's and don'ts, alternatives to ensure the fuel price are kept at reasonable rates for the commoners to afford. But as a society and the policy makers/executors should have the will to implement for the overall well-being of the society

Contemplating.... Negative???

Too much negativity in the air. Switch on the television, read the newspaper, discussion with friends & families, all lead to negativity. We end up saying the system is not good, politicians are bad, people are selfish, greedy, pass the buck intentionally and what not...  I agree, not everyone can perceive goodness or badness in anything and everything. That being an art by itself.  It has become the norm of the day that we have to take sides, no matter what due to the overfeeding of correct/fake information, pressure from others as they have become judgmental, critical for their own reasons and they want to sail you in their perceptional boat as well. Again, I do not say that we must not take sides at all, but the criteria for it in the modern times has changed which is not the right approach to go about. As a result , we have lost the quality of taking a middle/neutral stance when the situation deems. We are at the extreme ends in our judgement, behavior and other huma...

Sudani from Nigeria

A feel good Malayalam movie. Not big names except for the popular Soubin Shahir, with a simple but a refreshing story line, good characterizations, mood of Malappuram where football is a passion and way of life for many. Few improvement areas in the screenplay, music and on the editing would have enhanced the viewing. Nevertheless, a simple story line depicted in the best possible way, the human emotions and to top it all, a fitting climax gesture in the true football theme of the movie. Thanks to the team for a good movie.

Indian Railways...Time is Money!

In the last five years or so, I had experienced a tremendous improvement in the train schedules😌. They arrived and departed stations on time or with a variance of 10 to 15 minutes. And of course, due to unavoidable circumstances, long delays as in the past co-existed.   But in the last six months, I experience the long delays are kind of getting into a norm like the bad old days😞. I am not able to comprehend the reason(s), though one or two were due to derailment of some trains in the same route or issues with the track etc. Further, I do not understand the logic behind delayed trains getting compromised for a further "freebie" delay. We have paid money for your services and isn't it reasonable to expect the same from our Railways. Though I appreciate our efforts on bringing in bullet trains, but are we really ready for it. Don't we have many "high priority" action items in our bucket list already which need to be fixed if not tomorrow but today. Ensuri...

A great day to (re) start with!

Blogging not limited to any specific subject has been going through the mind for quiet sometime. But, due to lack of self-discipline, it has been far away from reality. As the saying goes, "better late than never", back to blogging again. As the blog name suggests, this is going to be a random reflection of thoughts with flavours of  well thought out, subjective, reactive, prejudice and what not! It is WORLD AUTISM AWARENESS DAY on Apr 2nd .  The UN Secretary-General sums it up in the most appropriate way: "On World Autism Awareness Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to promote the full participation of all people with autism, and ensure they have the necessary support to be able to exercise their rights and fundamental freedoms." Let us take the pledge!!!
